I've stumbled across this great (long) video about the history of copyright and how it affects us in today world. This is well worth a watch because it explains how we've gotten into this ridiculous part in history where copyright can be extended to infinity but still screw over the copyright holders.
Really all copyright does is help the publishers (think big corporations like Disney etc.) make money and screw over the actual creator of the material.

BTJunkie gone like that.
Well this was unexpected, one of my favorite torrent sites has closed its cyber doors. BTJunkie was a staple of the torrent community for years on end. It rose up from the ashes of Supanova and Mininova (former Torrent search engines).
It's a sad day today boys and girls as we've lost one of our own. Please spread this information as far and as wide as you can!
Fear not though, Wikipedia has a great link detailing some alternatives that could be of use! But please, I do not encourage this kind of thing because it's in a legal grey area. I'm posting this link here so that you can make up your mind about it. After all, you have free will!
